One of the farm’s specialties is the dark olive dozen. Produced from multi-generational breeding between Marans and Araucana resulting in some of the darkest olive eggs in Australia. Prolific layers, producing 5-6 eggs a week for 9-10 months of the year.
The Araucana is a breed of domestic chicken from Chile. Its name derives from the Araucanía region of Chile where it is believed to have originated. The Marans, French Poule de Marans, is a French breed of dual-purpose chicken, reared both for meat and for its dark brown eggs.
Please note, it is possible that some of the progeny will lay brown or pink.
Technical Information:
Incubation at 37.8C 30-35% humidity. Please note, Marans and Olives prefer this lower humidity and dislike extreme humidity fluctuations.
The eggs do not need to be rested when received and can be added to a pre-heated incubator, but we do recommend candling and a secondary thermometer for any incubator. Please check our pinned posts for candling and incubation information: https://www.facebook.com/share/1Aggyeoq1v/?mibextid=wwXIfr
Please no substitution requests. 🙏🏻
